The garden of the Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art |
First I and my husband visited The Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art.
This museum has a good collection of Jean-François Millet's painting and beautiful garden.
The color combination of his painting was unique which I don't see in Japanese paintings.
The color of the air in those paintings were the breeze of foreign lands.
After seeing the museum we ate "Houtou" which is one of a specialty dish of Yamanashi for lunch.
Thick noodle and variety vegetable such as pumpkin, carrot, taro, burdock, etc... were boiled in miso base soup. It was yummy.
Kai-Zenkouji Temple |
Our last stop was Erinji temple.
Erinji temple was founded in 1330 with Musō Soseki, a well-respected Zen priest of the Rinzai sect lived 1275-1351.
Its garden is designated as National Scenic Beauty. Many carps in the pound kept still.
Are they meditating?
Yamanashi prefecture is famous for producing Peach and Grapes.
Next time I would love to visit this area when peach flowers are blooming.
